Reflecting on 2023: Another Record Year

2023 has been another record year for MedPoint. The brand, our products and presence has continued to evolve. As the year draws to an end, we’re reflecting on progress made whilst celebrating our achievements.

We have surpassed expectations and saw a growth of 101% across items dispensed from prescription collection units in 2023.

A message from MedPoint Managing Director, Gill Collins:

As the Managing Director of MedPoint, I’m immensely proud of the remarkable growth we’ve achieved in the past 12 months.

This journey reflects our team’s dedication, our commitment to innovation, and the trust our customers place in us. We’ve expanded our reach, introduced new products like the SOLO 2, and adopted valuable partnerships.

Our growth is a testament to the commitment to excellence by every member of the MedPoint family, and I’m excited for the continued success that lies ahead.

Our 2023 key statistics

  • Over 2.7 million prescription items dispensed
  • 50 installations
  • 40 planned installations for 2024
  • 670K SMS sent
  • 71K patients served
  • 1 new partner
  • 5 new team members

A year of significant growth

This year we’ve celebrated 50 new MedPoint machines with 40 installations planned imminently. Locations include hospitals, dispensing doctors surgeries and pharmacies across the UK.

To support new installations, we’ve further grown our expert team. This year we’ve welcomed three Field Service Engineers, Kevan Carter, Michal Rycaj and Tom Tudor, to ensure seamless installations and servicing.

We also welcomed Ra Pailing as Internal Sales/Office Manager and Gillian Gray as Customer Support Administrator.

The expansion of the team underlines our commitment to development and service provision to all customers.

Embraced by hospitals

This year we’ve noticed a significant increase in hospital enquiries as word of mouth continues to spread across NHS sites.

We’ve completed several fantastic case studies with our existing hospital clients, including Bolton Hospital, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Leighton Hospital.

Steve Simpson, Chief Pharmacist at Bolton Hospital said the following: “I honestly believe that if there is capital and the space available, every Trust should consider installing a MedPoint, it really does make a huge difference to patients and staff.”

New features

Earlier this year, based on feedback from our wonderful clients, we developed two important new features.

Our interruptible scanning feature allows scans to run in the background, enabling staff to pause scans and patients who have received their pin to collect their orders without waiting for a scan to complete.

We also developed payment options at MedPoint machines. Users are now able to add a card payment terminal to their machine.

Several fantastic events

You may have spotted the MedPoint team at several fantastic events this year. We headed back to the Pharmacy Show, Dispensing Doctors Conference and The Scottish Pharmacy Trade Show. We also attended the Clinical Pharmacy Conference North.

It’s always great to make new connections and raise awareness of MedPoint, whilst learning more about industry trends and news.

We plan to attend several events in 2024 as they’re a brilliant opportunity for our potential customers to learn more and see our demo machine in action. Keep an eye on our events page for more information.

SOLO 2 launch

To meet shifting market demands, rising costs and funding cuts, we launched the SOLO 2. The upgraded machine offers a sleek design, unique configurability, and a lightweight footprint providing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry.

Aligning with Pharmacy First

To help pharmacists embrace new technology, whilst creating opportunity for growth, we’ve aligned with the Pharmacy First initiative.

MedPoint will match the Pharmacy First £2,000 initiative to boost your pharmacy’s capabilities. As an additional bonus, the first ten orders signed by Jan 31 2024, get an EXTRA £1,000 – All offers are subject to terms and conditions.

Looking ahead

2024 is already shaping up to be a fantastic year and we’re really looking forward to continuing to contribute to the evolution of the automation sector.
