To provide additional reassurance, we’ve recently completed rigorous assessments to become, Cyber Essentials Plus accredited taking that extra step to protect your data even more than ever before.

What is the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation?

Cyber Essentials Plus is the audited version of the Cyber Essentials information security standard. The government backed certification requires all accredited businesses to have numerous technical and procedural controls in place to enhance information security, in order to mitigate common cyber-attacks.

Why does it matter?

In 2019 alone, one-third of business had a cyber security breach. The outcome of such breaches were highly detrimental and had significant impact on businesses and their customers.

The threat of cyber-attacks and online hacking continues to rise, so to protect your business and customers, it’s important that to secure your data and systems to prevent breaches wherever possible.  A point we at MedPoint take very seriously and as such features heavily in our business model.

So how does MedPoint use your data?

Data is encrypted when transferred from one platform to another and no data is ever stored at any physical location other than MedPoint’s data base In the UK, where it is further encrypted at rest by AWS using AES-256 encryption standard.

AES-256 is the most secure form of encryption and is practically unbreakable due to having a key length of 256 bits, along with supporting the largest bit size.

Cyber Essentials ensures that at every stage of access to our software or data, everyone is audited and can only access this with the authorised level of access through a very secure password protocol.

All patient data cannot be accessed and processed in breach of GDPR guidelines as stated in the contract Section 15 General.

How is the accreditation awarded?

Cyber Essentials Plus is awarded following a series of in-depth tests and audits by an experienced cyber security assessor.

Each test provides further assurance that systems and procedures in place are of a high standard and are able to withstand potential attacks.
