Celebrating a Monumental Achievement: Over 2.5 Million Prescription Items Dispensed

Our expansive network of prescription collect points have now dispensed 2.5 million prescription items across the UK, further highlighting the surging demand for automation in the healthcare sector.

European expansion plans

With over 170 pharmacies now equipped with our innovative systems, we’re set to expand into Europe, solidifying our position as a leader in pharmacy technology.

Our secure and efficient prescription fulfilment process has contributed to our significant growth. Patients receive a secure PIN upon completing their prescription order, streamlining the collection process and ensuring a seamless and secure experience.

Gill Collins, Managing Director at MedPoint, expressed excitement about the monumental achievement, stating, “Reaching 2.5 million prescription items loaded is a clear indication that our automated collection system is exceeding the needs of both pharmacies and patients. We anticipate even greater success as we expand into new territories and continue to innovate.”

Seamless connectivity

The introduction of the new SOLO 2 marks a significant stride in healthcare technology, promising a more user-friendly and efficient experience for both healthcare providers and patients. Kevin Murphy, Superintendent Pharmacist, Co-Founder, and product development lead, aims to streamline operations and enhance patient experiences through seamless connectivity. The cloud-based management system serves as the backbone of MedPoint’s platform, offering unparalleled flexibility and ease of integration.

MedPoint’s cloud platform already integrates seamlessly with prominent Pharmacy PMR systems and interfaces with the BeWell patient app, with further expansions in the integration pipeline. Industry leaders such as Jardines, Cornwell’s, Dears, and Weldricks have embraced and benefitted from MedPoint, contributing to our widespread recognition and growth.

Multiple manufacturing sites

In response to the increasing demand for prescription collection points, we have expanded our operations to three manufacturing sites across England and Northern Ireland, creating at least 20 jobs. As the only automation provider with the Made-in-Britain kite-mark, we continue to contribute significantly to the UK’s technology and healthcare sectors.

Looking ahead to 2024

With an optimistic outlook for the last quarter of 2023 and a robust forecast for 2024, we remain committed to delivering cutting-edge prescription collection point solutions that redefine the pharmacy experience and contribute to the overall advancement of healthcare technology.

Co-founder Mark Hedley emphasises, “MedPoint’s commitment to innovation extends beyond our products; it is deeply embedded in our core values. Our expansion and job creation underscore the success of our approach, and we are excited about the positive impact our technology continues to make in the industry.”
